Learning Haematology through the lens of neurodivergent doctors

This website (InMind) was created to support my research project as part of my MsT in Medical Education.

Here, I am using the intersection between my academic interest in neurodiversity and my clinical role as a haematology resident doctor to explore the learning experiences of neurodivergent doctors specifically within haematology.

Younger me would be so excited that I get to use my love for asking questions & deep conversations, to help make meaning of the world around me

Background

There is growing recognition and acceptance of neurodiversity across healthcare, education, and workplaces. For doctors, these spaces often overlap.

For many, the workplace becomes their main learning environment. A unique space where doctors are expected to treat, care, learn and reflect. In a profession built on lifelong learning, it is worth reflecting on the learning experience itself.

This website brings together information about my research study and the recruitment process in one place, with the aim of making the process clear, accessible, and easy to navigate.

Through this research, I hope we can contribute to wider conversations around neurodiversity and inclusion, and explore ways learning environments within medical education spaces, can better support different ways of thinking and learning.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about this work. I hope you will consider taking part or sharing it with others who may be interested.
